Belgian cyclocross prospect Lars Peers will continue his development with Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe as one of the sport’s biggest teams invests in the 16-year-old talent.
Peers, who has already attracted interest from several leading teams, will continue combining cyclocross with mountain biking and road racing rather than concentrating exclusively on one discipline.
The Belgian youngster is a national cyclocross champion at youth level and steps up to the junior ranks this winter. His cyclocross development will also benefit from the involvement of former Belgian national coach Sven Vanthourenhout.
Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe’s willingness to support Peers across several disciplines could make him particularly interesting to follow over the coming seasons, with cyclocross remaining an important part of his programme.
For Peers, the coming winter will provide the first opportunity to test himself at junior level against some of Europe’s best young cyclocross riders.
