Rainbow Heeren Goes Red Bull

Junior cyclocross world champion Delano Heeren has a new home, with the 17-year-old Dutch talent joining grenke-Auto Eder, the junior development team of Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe.

Heeren produced the biggest result of his young career last winter when he claimed the junior rainbow jersey on home soil at the World Championships in Hulst. He also took gold with the Netherlands in the mixed team relay and won the Azencross at Loenhout.

The Dutchman has been racing in his new colours since 1 September, with Red Bull particularly impressed by the bike handling, race craft and decision-making developed through cyclocross.

“I am incredibly happy and proud to be part of this team,” said Heeren, describing the move as an exciting new step in his career.

The rainbow jersey now has some Red Bull wings – and Heeren will certainly be one to watch when the mud returns.
