Lachlan Morton claimed victory in the 2026 3 Peaks Cyclo-Cross after a dramatic finish to Britain’s most famous cyclocross challenge.
Morton completed the 61km Yorkshire Dales race in a provisional time of 3:02:19, beating Giles Drake by just one second. Jack Lucas completed the men’s podium in 3:04:24, with 13-time winner Rob Jebb producing another remarkable performance to finish fourth.
There was an equally impressive performance in the women’s race, where Isla Short won on her 3 Peaks debut in 3:36:30.
Short finished 2:18 ahead of three-time defending winner Bryony Halcrow, who took second in 3:38:48, with Madeline Moorhouse-Smith third.
Short’s time also appears to have broken the long-standing women’s course record. Louise Robinson’s 3:39:33, set in 2003, had stood for more than two decades, with Short going more than three minutes quicker.
Elsewhere, leading trail runner Tom Evans finished 21st in 3:27:03, while two-time Olympic triathlon champion Alistair Brownlee came home 95th in 3:57:18.
