One of cyclocross’s familiar names is disappearing ahead of the 2026–27 season, with Exact Cross becoming HG Cross following the arrival of a new title sponsor.
After four seasons with Exact as title partner, Dutch cleaning and maintenance products company HG has signed an agreement covering the next two cyclocross seasons, with an option to extend the partnership for a third year. The seven independent UCI races previously grouped under the Exact Cross banner will therefore be known collectively as HG Cross.
Despite the new identity, the fundamental format remains unchanged. Unlike competitions such as the UCI World Cup and Superprestige, HG Cross will not have an overall classification. Each event stands alone, encouraging riders to concentrate purely on winning individual races rather than accumulating points towards a series title.
The new era begins at Dendermonde on 11 October, with the famous Belgian venue returning to the calendar. Previous men’s winners there include Wout van Aert, Mathieu van der Poel and Thibau Nys, while Lucinda Brand has enjoyed considerable success in the women’s race.
From Dendermonde the series moves to Meulebeke on 17 October, followed by its sole Dutch round at Heerde on 24 October. Lokeren returns on 21 November, before one of the most atmospheric events of the series, the evening Zilvermeercross at Mol on 17 December. The final two races are Maldegem on 3 February and the traditional Waaslandcross finale at Sint-Niklaas on 13 February.
HG’s arrival also brings a completely refreshed visual identity. Organiser Golazo believes the partnership is particularly appropriate given cyclocross’s association with mud, sand and difficult winter conditions and HG’s specialisation in cleaning products. All seven races are also scheduled to receive live coverage from VRT Sporza.
For cyclocross supporters, therefore, the change from Exact Cross to HG Cross is primarily a new name and appearance rather than the creation of an entirely new competition.
With seven varied courses, no overall classification and some of the sport’s most recognisable venues, HG Cross should remain an important part of the 2026–27 cyclocross calendar – just under a new banner.
