Arzuffi Calls Time on Racing Career

Italian cyclocross star Alice Maria Arzuffi has announced her retirement from professional cycling, bringing an end to a 14-year career across cyclocross and road racing.

The 31-year-old was a familiar figure on the European cyclocross circuit and enjoyed considerable success at home. Arzuffi won four consecutive Italian Under-23 cyclocross titles before becoming elite national champion in 2021.

She also spent several seasons competing at the highest level in Belgium and elsewhere in Europe, establishing herself among Italy’s leading cyclocross riders and regularly lining up against the dominant Dutch and Belgian stars.

In more recent seasons Arzuffi increasingly concentrated on road racing, but cyclocross remained an important part of a career that began at professional level while she was still a teenager.

Her retirement closes the chapter on one of the most recognisable Italian riders of her generation and a rider who was a regular presence during an important period in the development of women’s international cyclocross.
