Joris Nieuwenhuis will race for Heizomat-CUBE from the 2026–27 cyclocross season after leaving Ridley Racing. The 29-year-old Dutchman has signed a multi-year deal and is expected to play a central role in the German team’s ambitions to move closer to the sport’s leading squads. Nieuwenhuis brings an established record that includes a Dutch national title, a World Cup victory and silver at the 2024 Cyclocross World Championships.

His departure is a significant change for Ridley Racing, a project that had originally been built around Nieuwenhuis and other high-level riders including Daan Soete and Felipe Orts. Heizomat-CUBE, meanwhile, sees his signing as part of a longer-term commitment to cyclocross, with CUBE also highlighting the value of feedback from elite riders in the development of its bikes. Nieuwenhuis described the move as the “new chapter” he was looking for and said the team’s long-term ambitions matched his own.
