British junior champion Peggy Knox produced a dominant performance at the Koppenbergcross in Oudenaarde on Sunday, claiming an impressive victory on one of Belgium’s most demanding cyclocross courses.
Knox mastered the famous slopes of the Koppenberg to take victory by a commanding 46 seconds over Dutch rider Damy van den Bogaard, with Poland’s Natalia Pirog completing the podium.
The emphatic winning margin underlined the young British rider’s strength and growing confidence, as she continues to establish herself among Europe’s leading junior cyclocross competitors.
There was also French success in the junior men’s race, where Victor Devos took victory ahead of Belgian riders Lars Peers and Bas Vanden Eynde.
For Knox, winning by such a convincing margin at one of cyclocross’s most iconic venues represents another significant achievement and a promising sign for the future of British women’s cyclocross.
